ANGELMENACE.COM is dedicated to showcasing my most current body of work. Some of my influences are contemporary architecture and origami and an anime series from my childhood called Gundam Wing. My work is about capturing a moment in someone or something. Taking grasp of a captivating scene or gesture, something that is essential about a person or object that I find myself drawn to. That moment or spark of interest usually consumes me and I have to figure out what that is. So I begin pulling apart the image like a two dimensional origami sculpture. Distorting what is not needed, emphasizing the pieces that created the moment. I start putting myself into the work either through form or aesthetic interest. I try to become part of that moment instead of just being a distant observer. This evolves into connecting with the subject in someway. I would love people to witness the connection in my work for themselves, and maybe also make their own connections.

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida where I spent my child hood attending art workshops and taking a strong interest in the visual arts. When I reached middle school I auditioned and was later accepted in to a magnet art program. The program helped me gain a better insight on various techniques and use of materials. At the end of my middle school years I decided to once again audition for a magnet art program, this time it was at Design and Architecture Senior High, (DASH). This was a high school which was devoted entirely to the visual arts. When I was accepted I was constantly being pushed to perform at a high level. Out of the many majors offered at school I majored in industrial design. This major pushed the fundamentals of perspective and encouraged strong drawing technique. During the summer of my junior year I was chosen among three other students in class to attend a two week workshop at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. After the trip I was inspired by the nature of excellence the college exuded and decided that was the school I wanted to become a part of. I majored in product design with a strong focus in entertainment design. I am currently published in two books, In the future... Entertainment Design at Art Center College of Design and Writers and Illustrators of the Future, Volume 23 Through out my time at Art Center I have been involved in several freelance opportunities. My client list includes: Yamaha, Added Value, Obsidian Games, Highmoon Studios, MagnusRex Studios, Prana Studios, Edge of Reality Games, NS Wash Systems, and Rhythm and Hues Studios. During my last term at Art Center I was hired full time at Rhythm and Hues while maintaining my position on the Deans list. I currently work as a freelance concept designer for film and fine art. I am completely open to exploring new avenues in art and design. I just love being creative !
